Our mission is straightforward: help you find reliable care for your pet in 2–3 clicks, with accurate prices, real contact information, and no hidden catches.

1. How It Works

Where Our Data Comes From

Every listing on Pawenn is built from verifiable facts, not web scrapers or guesses:

• Primary sources: We manually inspect official business registers, professional associations (such as the Chamber of Veterinary Surgeons of the Slovak Republic — KVL SR / SAVLMZ), and official business websites.
• Direct provider updates: Local business owners can submit, update, or correct their details at any time through our contact and edit request forms.
• Source transparency: Where available, each business card links directly to the primary source or official website where the information was observed.

How Listings Are Ordered

We believe pet owners deserve honest search results, not pay-to-win rankings:

• Default order (Fair Rotation): By default, search results for any selected category or district are shown in a randomized rotation with equal visibility. Every verified local business has a fair chance to be discovered.
• User-selected sorting: You can sort results by price range (when service prices are published) or by distance (if you choose to share your device location).
• No disguised ads: In the MVP version of Pawenn, paid placements are not active. When sponsored listings ("Partner") are introduced in later stages, they will be prominently labeled with a clear badge and visually separated from organic results. We will never alter organic search order for money.

How We Keep Data Fresh

• "Verified: {date}" badge: Every card displays the exact date its contacts, address, and details were last verified against primary sources.
• 90-day verification cycle: Any listing with data older than 90 days is automatically flagged for re-verification to confirm that phone numbers, opening hours, and addresses remain active.

What Pawenn Does NOT Do

• No user booking fees: We do not take a cut or commission from pet owners.
• No forced registration: You never need to create an account, enter a password, or download an app just to view a phone number or address.
• No unverified reviews: In our MVP, we deliberately omit open star ratings and subjective comment sections. Too often, unmoderated online reviews suffer from fake praise, competitor sabotage, or review extortion. Instead, we focus on objective, verifiable information so you can make informed decisions.

How do you choose which businesses to list?

We list legally operating, physical and licensed pet care service providers located in Bratislava and its 17 municipal districts. Each business must have verifiable contact details, a real physical location or certified service area, and an active business registration. We do not charge businesses to be included in our organic directory.

Can a business owner edit or remove their listing?

Yes, at any time. If you own or manage a listed salon, veterinary clinic, or pet hotel, you can request corrections, update your service menu and pricing, or ask for complete removal. Simply click the "Suggest an edit" link on your listing page or contact us at [email protected] (placeholder). We verify ownership and apply updates promptly.

Is Pawenn a booking platform?

No. In the MVP stage, Pawenn is a direct discovery directory, not a booking intermediary. When you find a service you like, you can call them directly (tel:), visit their official website, email them, or get driving/walking directions in your preferred map app. You arrange appointments directly with the provider on their own terms, without middleman fees.

Do you collect my personal data when I browse?

No. You do not need to register or log in to use Pawenn. We do not use cross-site tracking cookies or advertising pixels. Our website analytics are completely cookie-less and privacy-focused (powered by privacy-preserving analytics like Plausible / Umami), recording only aggregate page visits without storing personal identifiers or IP addresses.

How often is the information updated?

We maintain an ongoing verification process. Every listing displays its last verified date. Information older than 90 days is flagged for re-check against official websites, registries, or direct confirmation with the business. If you spot an outdated phone number or address, you can notify us directly from the listing card.

Why don't you have customer star ratings or reviews?

Open rating systems are easily manipulated by fake reviews, biased rankings, and retaliatory comments. In this initial release, we prioritize 100% verified, objective facts — transparent pricing, confirmed services, exact locations, and verified contacts — rather than unvetted ratings. If verified reviews are introduced in future versions, they will require strict proof of actual customer visits.
